Desk Leg FAQs
Explore frequently asked questions for desk legs
How tall should my desk legs be?
The standard height for desk legs supporting a finished tabletop are usually 28 to 30 inches (71-76 cm). This height accommodates most people in a seated, ergonomic position. This is why all of our desk legs and dining table legs are crafted at a universal 29 inch height.
What is the standard placement for desk legs?
A general rule of thumb for desk leg placement on a table is to position and secure the leg 16 to 20 inches from the ends of the table top. This placement helps to ensure comfortable legroom for those seated and maintains stability.
Where are you desk legs made?
All of our desk legs are handcrafted in North Carolina, USA by expert makers. We use sustainably sourced American pine, maple, and ash for our wooden legs and cold-rolled American steel for our metal legs—never cheap imports.
What kinds of desk legs do you offer?
We offer both wooden desk legs (solid American pine, maple, and ash, shipped unfinished and ready for stain/paint/sealer) and metal desk legs (precision-fabricated cold-rolled steel). Metal options are available raw (unfinished) or with professional-grade powder coating in black or clear for maximum durability.
Are the wooden desk legs unfinished? What about the metal desk leg finish?
Wood: yes—our wooden desk legs ship unfinished, ready to stain, paint, or seal to match your space.
Metal: choose raw steel (industrial look—seal if you want to prevent patina) or powder-coated (black or clear) for a sealed, chip-resistant finish.
Do your desk legs come with a warranty?
Yes—lifetime guarantee against defects and manufacturer issues on all legs (wood and metal). If you ever have a structural problem, we’ll make it right.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes—free shipping on all orders within the domestic United States. Every set is securely packaged and ships directly from our North Carolina workshop.
